Education Gazette 

The Ministry of Education would like to apologise for any inconvenience that may have been caused by the delay of publication of the Education Gazette. Particularly the absence of the June Gazette, as it had been combined with the July Gazette. The Ministry is currently reviewing the Gazette with the purpose of improving the quality in content, layout and appeal and to see how we can better format our editions to provide a more informative layout.

New Advisory Board for Education Sector

The establishment of an Advisory Board to the Ministry has now been endorsed by Cabinet. The Board, among its many objectives will provide advice and guidance to the Minister of Education, through the Secretary on:

  • current and future policy direction of Education in the Cook Islands
  • allocation of limited resources among competing agencies within the sector by promoting fairness and equality
  • working partnerships with key stakeholders within the Education Sector and across other sectors of the wider community to ensure that key objectives are met

ALISON.com is a free online learning resource for basic and essential workplace skills. The site is an advertising supported service and provides commercial quality interactive learning for FREE by means of revenue generated from advertising displayed as you study and learn.

ALISON provides high-quality, engaging, interactive multimedia courseware for certification and standards-based learning. It allows you to gain competence and then confidence across a range of skills.

Their  current offering consists of globally-popular ICT literacy courses such as BCS, MS Office, and Touch Typing, as well as courses on diverse subjects such as Financial Literacy (IFLC Level One) and various aspects of Health and Safety. A wide variety of courses on such subjects as Internet Marketing, English, and Workforce Readiness will soon be available.

All courses on ALISON are accessible for free to individual learners.
