I am back at work after a lovely long holiday in NZ. This week I am developing DVD resources for teachers that highlight how technology is being used in learning and teaching programs. These resources will be available to teachers during term one this year. :)

I was priveleged enough to be invited to attend Takitumu School's Boat day at Muri Beach on Friday 15th July, and what a great day it was too!  This was the culmination of Term 2's integrated unit on Boats and all the children got to test, and race, their own boats in the lagoon.  There were some really impressive vessels on display and all the kids can be extremely proud of their efforts.  We also got to race real vaka's which was exhilerating indeed!  The lunch was also a real highlight and I'm sure if I had gone back into the sea after eating I would've sunk like a stone...  It was also the farewell to three visiting Monash trainee teacher's and through talking with them I know that they took with them some cherished memories of Takitumu School, it's pupils, and Rarotonga in general.  Here are some photos of the day.
