Araura Primary

Araura Primary School is on the island of Aitutaki in the Village of Arutanga which is 40 minutes due Northeast of Rarotonga. We are situated inland from the main township of Arutanga which is in about the center of the island. Araura Primary School shares their ground with the only College on the island, Araura College.  It was established in 1962 and is a state run school with a student population of about 140 students. The School has about 9 teachers with Clare Nelio as Principal and Putangi Mose as Chairperson. The school caters for students from early childhood upto primary school level. Our students are identified by the uniform they wear. Girls wear green pinafores with a white shirt inside if so desired. Girls also have two plaits tied up with a green ribbons. Boys wear navy blue shorts with a white shirt. Our classes range from Pre- school (3 1/2yrs to 5yrs) up to Grade 6 (10-11yrs). School starts at 8am and finishes at 2pm.
