It is hoped to develop students’ interest in the Visual Arts and realize that the field is very broad. It is hoped to help participation in the Visual Arts as the physical side of art making helps problem solving. To understand Cook Islands Visual Arts in the global context as it is becomes an integral part of who we are.

Arts education includes (building literacy’s specific to) the disciplines of music, dance, drama and visual arts. It involves problem solving through building skills and engaging the imagination in order to communicate ideas, feelings and experiences. Our study of the arts in the classroom recognizes the importance of the arts to the people of the Cook Islands and the role it plays in connecting generations of people. The arts reflect tradition and history as well as creativity and innovation. It is also a forum for student to investigate the role of the arts in a social, cultural and international context, exploring the influences of art forms from across the world.
