| Minister of Educations Message |
|

|
I am pleased to say that my Government continues to place the highest priority on Education. candida treatment In this financial year, we have allocated higher levels of resources to Education, taking the annual budget for the ministry beyond $10 million for the first time. Of utmost importance is how these resources are managed and distributed over the coming months and in this regard, I expect that the new Education Strategic Plan will be a key factor in setting the framework for improved competencies in delivery. Despite its strengthened priority, and additional resources, there is no doubt that the Education sector faces tremendous challenges in the near and long term future. There is ongoing discussion about the value of reforming the sector and streamlining operations into one ‘super-ministry’. Developing our local skills base of teachers, the sustainability of higher education programmes, trade training, and associations with international providers, are all demanding considerable attention. At the core of our concerns is developing and preserving our greatest national resource – our people. Every effort must be directed to the critical areas in each level of our Education system so that there is real growth in opportunity and advancement for our people.
